Quartet formé en 1980 à Lawrence, Kansas, par Dean Lubensky (vocals), John Harper (guitar), David Dale (bass) & Steve Eddy (drums). Fin 1981, les Micronotz sont enregistrés live au Off The Wall Hall avec Get Smart!, The Embarrassment & Yard Apes pour la compilation "Fresh Sounds From Middle America vol 1" de Bill Rich. Leur premier album parait également sur Fresh Sounds en 1982, William S Burroughs proche de Bill Rich leur donne le texte de "Old Lady Sloan"...
