The Proles de la scène de Sunderland, qui avaient précédemment participé en mars 79 avec The Condemned au split EP édité par l'association Rock Against The Racism, sortent leur single Soft Ground / S.M.K. en octobre 79 chez Small Wonder Records. Le peu d'intérêt suscité par le single conduit le groupe à la séparation, John Black, Kevin Wilson, Peter Short resurgiront dans All The Madmen ... Un très honnête single conseillé aux amateurs de Devo, Spizzenergi, Buzzcocks...
