THE MEDIA - Bright New Future

Quartet de Portsmouth formé en 1978 par les deux ex-The Nurds Martin Jacks (vocals) et Peter Rossie (guitar), Michael "Chello" Whichello (bass) & Brian Lee (drums). En juillet 79, le groupe sort le EP autofinancé "No Darling I Love The Media" sur son label Tearaway Records, un pur joyau de punk rock écoulé en partie par Rough Trade. Leurs fortes influences 60s, les rapprochent rapidement de la nouvelle scène revivaliste mod, après un second single en 1980, le groupe splitte l'année suivante... Une bien belle anthologie éditée en 2020 par Love Child Records... Great punk / mod stuff...
