Quatuor formé à Manchester en mars 1979 par Ian Chambers (vocals), Andy "Fox" Farley (vocals, guitar), Steve "Sox" Mardy (bass, vocals) & Mike Joyce (drums). Enregistré en septembre 79, "Only The Blind Can See In The Dark" paraît en janvier 80. Après un quasi total changement de line-up, The Hoax sortira trois EPs avant le split en 81. "Only The Blind Can See In The Dark" ouvre la décennie brillamment "Storm Trooper" reste inoubliable...
