ARKANSAW MAN - The Arkansaw Man EP

Trio de San Francisco formé en 1981 par Stephen Bartholomew Clarke (guitar, vocals), Patrick LoVullo (bass, trumpet) & l'ex-The Hates Glenn Sorvisto (drums) avec une section cuivre composée par Kelli Kozak (clarinet), JoAnn Gogue (alto sax), Matthew Heckert (alto sax), Josh Ende (tenor sax), Asil Lasi (tenor sax) & Richard Marriott (trombone). Arkansaw Man enregistre ces quatre morceaux inclassables en octobre et novembre 1981 au studio de Subterranean Records, art-punk minimaliste avec une touche jazzy conférée par la section cuivre assez proche des expériences post-punk new-yorkaises, on pourrait aisément intégrer la voix de Lydia Lunch sur The Ballroom Song.
