THE STYRENES - It's Still Artastic

Combo protopunk né en 1975 des cendres des Mirrors, un groupe au line-up très fluctuant avec des routards de l'underground de Cleveland comme Anton Fier (Friction, Pere Ubu, Ex-Blank-Ex, Feelies, Lounge Lizards...), Paul Marotta (Electric Eels, Mirrors), Jim Jones (Electric Eels, Mirrors, Pere Ubu, Home & Garden...) ou Jamie Klimek (Pere Ubu, Mirrors)... Les Styrenes enregistrent leur premier single "Drano In Your Veins / Circus Highlights" en 75, une inspiration empruntant à syd Barrett et au Velvet Underground..."It's Still Artastic" est un document (ROIR, 2002, de nombreux titres en commun avec l'anthologie "It's Artastic! Cleveland '75 To '79" précédemment sortie sur Homestead en 91) indispensable pour les amateurs de cette extraordinaire petite chapelle rock de Cleveland qui influença tant le punk rock et ce qui allait devenir la new wave... Great Seminal Cle-band...
